Laura Pasquino

Laura by Sacha Verbeek

Laura is a ceramics artist based in Amsterdam. Inspired by ancient traditions, she explores the endless possibilities with clay.

Practicing ceramic art in Japan significantly influenced Laura's vision. Expressing herself through organic nuances of clay, her sculptures have natural aesthetics and pure, simple form.

Minimalist ceramic pieces celebrate imperfections. Using techniques such as Kintsugi, she sometimes puts cracks in the pottery back together with gold. Building on tradition and the idea of embracing flaws, Laura creates even stronger pieces of art.

Giving the piece a personality, rather than making it perfect is essential in her process. Laura's pieces are therefore often left with fingerprints, tool scratches or any marks that happened in the making.
